We do recommend bear spray for hiking in the area. You can buy it in town. Some options include Canadian Tire, or Gear Up Sports. Guests often leave theirs in the units so if you see some in the hallway closet in your condo, you are welcome to use it!
You will need a park pass; one per car, for both Canmore/Kananaskis trailheads and upon entering the Banff National Park. Bought online or Canmore Nordic Centre, Banff Park gates; respectively.
Lake Louise Shuttle (2025): FAQ About the Parks Canada Shuttle
1. You will need a Canada Parks pass to go through the gates of Banff National Park.
2. In the months June -September parking is very limited and has a fee. (you would need to get there prior to 7am to get a spot).
3. Many shuttle buses run trips to Lake Lousie and Moraine Lake (there is no parking at Moraine Lake)
There are many shuttle options:
Lake Louise Ski Resort Park and Ride: Canada Parks Shuttle bus that can be reserved online, generally easiest and cheapest. Reservations start mid-April. Additional seats rolled out 2 days prior to departure time, these will generally sell out by 9am, best to book in advance.
Roam Transit: (Bus) Many access points to choose from. Reservations are recommended.
Ways Adventures: Private shuttle company offering tours, reservations required. Includes park pass in the total cost.
Three Sisters Transportation: Private shuttle company with many tour options.
